The Zoo Keeper
I work in the zoo
I'm a zoo keeper
I clean out the monkeys
And feed them fruit
I watch all the people
Watching animals
And pulling faces
Like you
Do you?
I'm no David Attenborough
But know where
All the creatures
Come from to be here
I read all the little signs
In the little cases
By the little cages
Me
I can answer peoples questions
On the lions breeding habits
And the apes too
I often wonder
If they look at us
In a similar way
To how we do
And at home I watch nature programs
Seeing how they're living in their natural habitats
And think of them like that
I work at the zoo
And like Dr. Doolittle
I can talk to them
And do
I picture them
Happy in the wild
And then I work a little harder
